Once upon a time, Maggie carried a cell phone and I've tried just about every service out there. The only one that didn't get my hackles up was the pre-Sprint NexTel. The primary problems were related to the minuscule fine-print and traps where a person is nickel-and-dimed into financial submission.
Needless to say, I'm not toten' one of those pests these days.
Though, there are times it would be most beneficial.
MOSH Mobile offers a free cell service that works on a top notch phones like the Blackberry Pearl. Yes, I said FREE cell service!
It's about time somebody figured this one out.
At the moment they offer two ad supported service plans targeting young adults from 18-24. That counts me out. I'm a little older than what they are looking for, even though my mailman keeps telling me I look twenty-two. Oh Ray!
Their 400 minutes plus free evenings only requires that you respond to 3 discussions (that's what they call the advertisements) a day. Seven times for the 800 minute plan. Each plan includes a few extras such as a free ring tone every 60 days, unlimited MySpace and 411.
Though, I've yet to see one. I'm guessin' these will be short discussions that don't count against your minutes and will be fun to view and respond to. Invites to events, video clips and other stuff that would have an appeal the kids these days.
MOSH Mobile is still in the beta stage and opening up testing to specific individuals in specific areas. As an Indiana company, their current area is of course in Indiana, but are working to expand into different markets. Request an invitation from their main page if you want to be a part of "the in crowd".
